The difference between a useful brief and a vague one is about twenty minutes of your time — and often several million naira of variance in the quote.
We quote from briefs every week, and the quality varies enormously. The good ones aren't longer — they're specific about a handful of things.
Say who uses it and how often
"An inventory system" could be a spreadsheet replacement for three people or a warehouse platform for two hundred. The architecture, and therefore the price, differs by an order of magnitude.
Name the systems it must talk to
Integrations are usually the largest source of estimate variance. Naming them upfront — and saying whether they have documented APIs — lets us price accurately instead of defensively.
State what success looks like
"Reduce order processing from 20 minutes to under 5" tells us what to optimise. "Modernise our operations" does not.
Be honest about budget
A budget range isn't a number we'll expand to fill. It tells us which solution to propose — and whether to tell you we're the wrong fit, which saves everyone time.
Got a project in mind?
We'll tell you honestly whether we're the right fit.
