This authorises an initial assessment only. It is not approval for paid or invasive recovery work.

1. 01 Authority. I confirm that I own the device, storage media and data, or have the owner's authority to request this service.
2. 02 Initial assessment. I authorise Closetags to inspect the media and perform reasonable, non-destructive diagnostics to assess recoverability and prepare a quotation.
3. 03 Inherent risk. I understand that failing or damaged media can deteriorate during diagnosis or recovery, and that no particular file or amount of data can be guaranteed.
4. 04 Separate approval. Submitting this form opens a case only. Invasive work, a specialist-lab transfer and paid recovery require my separate written approval of the scope and quotation.
5. 05 Data handling. I authorise access only as reasonably necessary for the assessment or approved recovery. The written scope will state the delivery and deletion arrangements. Passwords and recovery keys must not be entered in this form.
6. 06 Not a forensic service. This service does not preserve forensic chain of custody or guarantee that recovered material will be admissible as evidence. I will tell Closetags before handover if the media may be evidence.
7. 07 Statutory rights. This authorisation does not waive rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
