MATCHA tennis and padel matchmaking
A racket-sports matchmaking app for Lagos that pairs players by skill and neighbourhood, with a live rating that both players confirm.
the challenge
What they came to us with
Finding someone to play tennis or padel with in Lagos happens in WhatsApp groups and word of mouth. You can find a player nearby, or a player at your level, but rarely both, and there is no shared record of who actually turns up or what the result was.
the approach
What we built
MATCHA matches on skill level and the neighbourhoods a player actually plays in, rather than raw proximity. Every verified match updates a live MATCHA Rating that both players confirm, and a separate Court Credit score tracks reliability: response time, attendance, and honest result submission.
Around the matching sits the rest of the loop: leaderboards across four time windows, club communities (Ikoyi Club 1938 first), and a group chat attached to every match so coordination stays in one place.
